WALTER, ROBERT J., age 81, of North Cape May passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, PA; he has been a life-long Cape May area resident. He served his country in the US Air Force. Robert worked for the Wildwood Water Works, Burke Motors and the Cold Spring Fishing Supply (Lobster House) where he retired as a manager in 2007. He was a former member of the Villas Fishing Club, the Moose Lodge of Erma, enjoyed fishing, and boating, and was an avid thoroughbred race horse owner. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Mary in December of 2012 and his daughter Debra Nordaby in September 2011. He is survived by his: son Clifford (Melissa) Walter, daughter Donna (Fred) Jacob, daughter Barbara (Ron) Chavanne, daughter Karen (Andrew) Axelsson, and son-in-law Robert Nordaby. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Melissa, Paul, Allison, Amber, Amanda, Alisha, Alexandra, & Janel; along with 2 great grandchildren: Paul J & Brayden. There will be a funeral service at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
