VERITY, RUTH BARBARA (SHAW

VERITY, RUTH BARBARA (SHAW), 85, of Cape May Court House, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2017 after a short hospitalization. She was born on July 5, 1932, in Lower Township, NJ, to Harry and Florence Shaw. She graduated from Cape May High School. On August 15, 1953, she married Leonard Verity Jr. whom she loved for 64 years. She worked for New Jersey Natural Gas, now known as South Jersey Gas Company, before raising her children and partnering with her husband in their masonry business. ‘Charlie’, as she was lovingly called by her husband, enjoyed various pastimes including cooking and baking, gardening, birdwatching, handwork, ceramics, crossword puzzles, line dancing, playing cards, and listening to Christian, country and bluegrass music. She also found pleasure in traveling, often to fish or hunt. Her faith in Jesus Christ and time spent with family and friends were of the utmost importance to her.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, her brother Raymond, and her son David. She is survived by her husband, her children Leonard III (Elizabeth) and Linda, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her ever faithful Lab, Maggie, who never left her side. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. and Christian Service will follow at 11.
