Obituary

TURNER, EILEEN

TURNER, EILEEN (NEE KELLEY) of Ocean View, N.J. is celebrated for a life of compassion for her family, friends, and all living things. Eileen was born March 28th, 1947 in Camden, New Jersey to John and Helen Kelley. She was a loving wife to her husband, Doug, a caring sister to her brothers, Rich and Barry Kelley, a wonderful mother to her children, Krista (Andersen) Kelso and husband Peter, Kathy (Andersen) Galia and husband John, Scott Turner and wife Kelli, and Justin Turner, and an adored Nana to all of her grandchildren, Morgan, Reilly, Marin, Jack, Ryan, and Megan. Eileen was active supporter of many causes in her community. She was a dedicated member of the Dennis Township Environmental Commission for many years, always a guardian for the environment. She served on her children’s school P.T.A. Eileen also served as a volunteer with the Sea Isle Ambulance Corps as well as the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. Eileen was a truly instrumental force in her family’s businesses. She was the creative inspiration behind much of the design of Shore Gate Golf Club. She originated the themed weekends and family activities at Ocean View Resort, ever working to increase the enjoyment of families around her. Eileen had a passion for animals and wildlife. She was always involved in the care and rehabilitation of local wildlife. Should anyone find an injured animal they would always know who to call. In lieu of flowers, Eileen would request that memorial contributions to be made to New Jersey Nature, 2353 Route 47, Delmont, NJ 08314, a program for the rehabilitation of wildlife and educational presentations. Visitation will be held at Godfrey Funeral Home, 644 South Shore Road in Palermo, New Jersey, on Friday evening, October 9 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Burial will be held privately.
