THOMASSON, HAROLD W.

THOMASSON, HAROLD W. “LIMEY”, 82, of Cape May and formerly of West Deptford, sadly on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 surrounded by his family. Limey was born in Stonington, CT, raised in National Park, NJ; graduated from Woodbury High School (Class of 1950). He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving aboard the USS Fitch DMS25. Limey retired as the maintenance supervisor from Monsanto Chemical Company, Bridgeport in 1985. Limey and Claire moved to Cape May where he resided and installed doors with his sons as “The Doormen”. Limey was a lifetime member of Army Navy Union Garrison 52 in National Park; Veterans of Foreign War Post 386, Cape May; American Legion Post 133, Woodbury; Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5197; Naval Mine Warfare Association and was a member of the Key Largo Emergency Snow Removal Team and enjoyed his seasons in Grassy Sound. Limey will be dearly missed by his loving family which includes his wife of 58 years, Claire; five children, Harold (Patrice), Thomas, Rosemarie Willetts (Ray), William (Sharon) and MaryColleen. Limey had 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Friday (June 21st) from 10:30 am ” 12 noon in the Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May with a Mass celebrating Limey’s life and his reunion with our Savior Jesus Christ beginning at 12:30 pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May. Interment will take place in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
