TAYLOR, EDWARD M., age 80, of Erma went home to be with the Lord Jesus after a four year battle with Leukemia. Ed was a loving father and a devoted husband. He had worked 27 years at the Magnesite Plant in Cape May Point and served seven years in the National Guard. He worked a few years welding for himself and another eleven years for Barney’s Dock in Atlantic City. Edward formerly attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Erma and had been a trustee. He currently had attended Grace Baptist Church in Rio Grande. He was a member of Erma Holiness Camp where he had also served as a trustee. Edward was a great handyman to everyone and he greatly enjoyed cooking for church dinners. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Julia Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Joan Taylor.; a sister Darlene “Dolly” Maugeri; a son Colin (Wendy) Taylor; three daughters Nancy Johnson, Debbie Shepard and Kristin (Ed) Carson; a step-daughter Pat (Bob) Davis;. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday June 16, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N. Cape May, NJ where relatives and friends may call from 1 to 2 PM. Burial will be in Tabernacle U.M. Cemetery in Erma.
