STRAUB, MARY MARGARET DEMPSEY

STRAUB, MARY MARGARET DEMPSEY passed away peacefully on July 14, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. Born January 28, 1920, in Philadelphia to the late James A. and Mary C. (Wilmuth) Dempsey, the oldest of 5 children, Mary Margaret was educated at West Catholic Girls High School and attended the University of Pennsylvania. In 1949 she married Henry F. Straub (Harry) who predeceased her in 1995 after 46 years of marriage. The couple moved to Harrisburg in 1951 and to Camp Hill in 1957. They have been members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church since 1957. She is survived by daughters, Rosemary Straub and husband, L. Richard Gould, of Ellicott City, MD, Margaret Straub and husband, Mark Curran, of Chester, Vermont, Barbara Straub Williams and husband, Brian Williams, of Washington, DC, son Hank Straub of Camp Hill, PA, and brother, Martin J. Dempsey and wife, Kathleen, of Devon, PA.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Rick Gould, Alex Gould, Christopher Gould, Miles Curran, Oliver Curran, James Curran, Spencer Curran, Adrienne Straub, Caroline Straub and Mary Leigh Williams.
In addition to her husband, Mary Margaret is predeceased by 3 brothers, James, Jr., John P. (Jack), and Thomas J. (Ty).
Mary Margaret was a loving matriarch who was devoted to her children and grandchildren, a loyal friend who leaves lifelong friendships, an avid bridge player and was happiest when with her family in Sea Isle City, NJ, where she spent many happy summers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00, Monday July 18, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Rd. Camp Hill. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 11:00. Interment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church 3435 Trindle Rd. Camp Hill, PA 17011.
