STERRETT, JAMES W., age 89 of Voorhees, formerly of Cape May, NJ and Philadelphia, PA passed away June 13, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living, Voorhees, NJ.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA living in the Fairmount section, and later N E Philadelphia before moving to North Cape May in 1983. He was retired from the City of Philadelphia police department.
He was predeceased by his wife Genevieve Stanley, and his second wife Barbara Wacker, a daughter Jeanne Sterrett, and step son Bill Wacker.
James is survived by his daughter Barbara (Tom) Kaczar of Medford, NJ, his son Jim (Mary) Sterrett, step-son Tom Wacker, and step-daughter Debbie Marano. He’ll be greatly missed by his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends gathered to greet family Friday June 16 beginning 9:30 AM; services held at 10:00 AM at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N Main St. Medford, NJ. Interment followed in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA.
