STANTON, FRANK PHILLIP, Sr. passed away surrounded by family on Monday, July 22, 2013. Married 59 years to his sweetheart Janet Richards Stanton who passed away in 2008. Son of late George T., Sr., and Emilie B. Stanton, and brother of late George A., George T., and Junior Stanton. Born on January 29, 1927 in Washington DC. Devoted father, survived by eight children: Ellen Hendershot (Lee), Frank Stanton, Jr. (Cathy), Carol Lewis (William), Bill Stanton, Ruth Grimes (Bill), George Stanton II (Darlene), Janet Manuel (Troy) and Emilie Haller (Robby). Also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren. A 1945 Graduate, Calvin Coolidge High School, Washington, DC. Served WW II with the US Coast Guard as a Radio Operator. He attended the University of Maryland where he studied Business Administration. Completed classes at American Institute of Banking (AIB). Employed in management with Suburban Trust until he retired to Wildwood, NJ 1985–enjoyed the beach & boardwalk. Was a devoted Maryland Terps fan, an avid Redskins fan, liked to play baseball, fish, and bowl. Was active in University Hills and Shoreham Beach Citizens Associations. Member Board of Directors Ocean Towers, Wildwood, NJ. Past President & Vice President of Suburban Trust Bowling league. Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July, 25, at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 10755 Scaggsville Road, Laurel, MD 20723. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
