SLOAN, JONLYN, 66, of Wildwood Crest passed away September 2, 2013 after a brief illness. “Miss Jonlyn” was known to generations of island children and their parents for giving them a jump start on their education as the coordinator and owner of Early Bloomer’s Pre School in Wildwood. Born in Sea Isle City, NJ, Jonlyn was brought home as an infant to Wildwood Crest where she was happy to have spent her entire life. Jonlyn graduated from Wildwood High School and received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts degrees in Education from Glassboro State College (Rowan University). She loved the Cresse Avenue beach and was a frequent summertime visitor to the edge of the sand with her beach chair, her novel and her best friend, Diane Bonelli. Jonlyn was predeceased by her father, John (Jack) Fulton, and recently by her mother and confidante Inez Fulton. She is survived by her son Duane Sloan (Terri) of Wildwood , grandchildren Andrew, Eric and Madison Sloan (all of Wildwood), brother John Fulton (Kim) of Stone Harbor Manor, sister VeAnn Nichols (Sean) of Wildwood and brother Boyd Fulton (Karen) of Landsdowne, PA. Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood at Burke and Pacific Avenues on Saturday September 7th at 11:00 AM where friends may call from 10:00 AM . A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date to honor Jonlyn’s wishes for dispersal of her ashes. Donations in lieu of flowers would be appreciated to the Graves’ Disease and Thyroid Foundation to further research on thyroid dysfunction: gdatf org. Jonlyn would have also been grateful to be remembered through a donation to the ASPCA at aspca.org.
