SLATE, EDMUND (BUTCH) L. JR., age 77, of West Wildwood, NJ, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015.Butch proudly served in the Navy from 1956 through 1960. After his years of service he went on to be a dedicated employee of Boeing from which he retired in 2000. During his retirement Butch enjoyed being a member of the Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge #1896, the Knights of Columbus and shooting shuffleboard.Edmund was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Barbara, in May of 2013.He is survived by his daughter, Colleen Vivarina of Wildwood, NJ; two sons, Edmund (Leslie) of Wilmington, DE; Brian (Maryellen) of Philadelphia, PA.; nine grandchildren – Samantha and Stephen Vivarina, Chris, Olivia, Riley and Grace Slate, Sara, Jamie, Brian Slate Jr.; his brother, Thomas (Dottie) Slate of Springfield, PA; and sister, Chris (Ed) Ainsley of Kissimmee, FL.
