SHERMAN, ELIZABETH ANNE “Bette

SHERMAN, ELIZABETH ANNE “Bette”, 84, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died peacefully at home on July 20, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Bette was born in Philadelphia, PA to Henry George Sr. and Margaret Black Ulrich in 1932 where she grew up alongside her sister, Margaret Mary Dodson and her brother Henry George Ulrich, Jr., all of by whom she is predeceased. Bette and her parents moved to South Jersey in 1950 where she met and married the love of her life. In addition to raising five children, Bette worked outside of the home and finished her career as the director of admissions for Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Over the years, Bette contributed to the community as the president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Middle Township Ambulance Corps, as a teacher of religious education classes, and as a Girl Scout troop leader, to name a few. Most notably, Bette was a proud and faithful member of Our Lady of the Angels parish since it was first established.
Bette is survived by her adoring husband of 63 years, John C. Sherman and by her devoted children, Donna (William) Welch, J. Kevin (Brigitte) Sherman, Debra (Gary, Sr.) Robson, Pamela (Leonardo) Hernandez, Monica (Michael) Sacchetti. Her legacy will be carried on by her loving grandchildren Brooke Morelli, R.J. Rixey, Gary Robson, Jr., Erin Robson, Danielle Carney, Nicolas Sacchetti, LizAnne Hernandez, Gianna Sacchetti, and Dylan Hernandez. Additionally, Bette is survived by 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law, Mary Ulrich, the Ward children, and her dog, Penny Sue, all of whom she loved dearly.
Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Roman Catholic Church with Father Cosme de la Peña on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Cape May County Veteran’s Cemetery, 129 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House, NJ. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Angels prior to the service from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with Radzieta Funeral Home handling the arrangements.

Bette will remain in our minds and our hearts forever. She is resting now in heaven, where she is delighting in all of the gold stars on her crown.
