SHAW, CATHERINE, age 89, of North Cape May passed away peacefully Friday, April 21, 2017 at her home. Catherine was born in Bordentown, NJ; formerly lived in Salem, NJ; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1958. She was the daughter of the late George Ely and the late Viola (nee LeConey) Ely. Catherine formerly worked at Gaynor Glass Factory in Salem and for the Cavalier Motel in Wildwood Crest, NJ. She was Methodist by faith, was a member of the Villas VFW and Moose Auxiliary, enjoyed puzzles, music, and spending time with her grandchildren. Catherine is survived by her daughter Kathleen Shaw, her sister Almeda (“Meggie”) McPeak, 3 grandchildren: Sharon Baker, Richard Bailey, Jr, & Mark Hess, 6 great grandchildren: Jessica Sweeten, Richard Bailey, Jenna Baker, Sherri Baker, Markie Hess, Damian Hess, 1 great-great granddaughter: Sky Stewart, and her sister-in-law Mary Hays. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Milton, Wilbert, Charles, John, & June Ely and one sister Nellie Miller.
