SCHWARTZ, JR., GEORGE MEHL

SCHWARTZ, JR., GEORGE MEHL, 84, of Cape May Court House, passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2013. He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Blair Schwartz. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Esther (Hansen) Schwartz; his children, son, George Mehl Schwartz, III and his wife, Mary, of Newton Grove, NC, daughter, Linda Starkey and her husband, Mark, of Midlothian, VA, daughter, Nancy Mitchell and her husband, Robert (Bob), of Cherry Hill, NJ, son, Scott Robert Schwartz and his significant other, Allyn Penkethman, of Cape May Court House, NJ and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lynn (Tozour) Schwartz, of Avalon, NJ; ten beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey Mitchell (Kristen), Jennifer Mitchell Brown (Matthew), Sarah Schwartz Seegars (John), Julie Mitchell Standley (Joseph), Annah Schwartz, Lauren Starkey Riggs (Brian), Jonathan Schwartz, Robert Mitchell, Lindsay Schwartz and Douglas Schwartz; and three great-grandchildren, Colin and James Mitchell, and Jack Brown; sister, Betty (Schwartz) Carlton and her husband, Robert, of Cold Spring, NJ; many other relatives and loving nieces and nephews. George was a long time member of Grace Gospel Chapel for many years. A gifted carpenter whose construction career spanned 63 years, he was also a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1743 and was a Master Mason/55 year member of Cape Island Masonic Lodge #30, receiving a 55 year pin. Upon retirement, George and Esther loved travelling extensively for vacation and to see family and friends. George was loving and devoted husband, a dedicated family man and outstanding father. He touched many lives in the community. He will forever be remembered for his kind and generous heart, strong and determined work ethic, and his devotion to his family. He taught us by his actions to be kind and considerate and to love family most of all. We were so blessed to have had him in our lives. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 where services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Cape May County Technical High School, Jack Schwartz Memorial Scholarship Fund, 188 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210
