SARANDOULIAS, JAMES, 73, of North Cape May, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Born in Newark, NJ to the late Chris and Anna Sarandoulias, he moved here in 1997 from Clifton, NJ. He worked as a State Parole Officer for the State of New Jersey. He later worked at Marlboro Flower Nursery in Green Creek for several summers, where he truly enjoyed sharing his passion with gardening with the public as well as making friends through his welcoming personality. He was known as “Big Jim” at Marlboro’s. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Sarandoulias was a member of the Parish of St. John Neumann St. John of God Church and the VFW. He liked gardening, hunting, and fishing, but he truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially at barbeques.
Mr. Sarandoulias is survived by his wife of 42 years, the love of his life, Ana Valentine Sarandoulias; his daughter, Jennifer Heun (Boomer); his grandchildren, CJ and Natalie; his sister, Helen Vlachakis; his brother, Louis Sarandoulias (Vasso); and his nieces and nephews, Ann Davidson, Chris Sarandoulias, Lambros Vlachakis, Chris Vlachakis, and Vivienne Vlachakis.
Viewing will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Parish of St. John Neumann St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Road, North Cape May, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Committal Service will be on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House.
