SALFI JR., JOSEPH M., 73, of Swainton, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Atlantic City to the late Joseph and Sperina Vallese Salfi, Sr., he was raised in Woodbine and lived in Avalon and Swainton. He was a master plumber and owner of Joseph M. Salfi, Jr. Inc. Plumbing Heating and Cooling. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1962. Joe was a member of the New Jersey League of Master Plumbers, the Cape May County League of Master Plumbers, and AARP. He enjoyed using his metal detector, coin collecting, and hunting. His greatest joy came from the time spent with his family. Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ellen (nee Lamplough) Salfi; his daughter, Marie Mathis (Charles); his son, Joey Salfi, III; his grandson, CJ Mathis (Rachael); his two great grandchildren, Charlie and Evan; his brothers, David Salfi, Salvatore Salfi (Hallie), and Nick Salfi (Michelle); his sisters in law, Theresa Salfi and family, and Carol Scott and family; his cousins, including his special cousin Sophia Albrecht, nieces, nephews, and his dear friend, Kathy Gadsby. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Salfi. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. The family has requested that people wear informal attire for the viewing and funeral. Interment will be in Calvary Baptist Cemetery, Ocean View.
