RUSSO, LILLIAN GALE

RUSSO, LILLIAN GALE, age 83, of Wildwood Crest passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at her home. Lillian was born in Chestnut Hill, PA. She is the daughter of the late William Howell & Florence (nee Franks) Howell. Moving to Wildwood at a very young age, graduating from Wildwood High School and after marrying resided permanently in Wildwood Crest. Lillian was a member of the Wildwood Junior Civic Club 1954-1974. While a member she served a term as President and was also designated outstanding Junior Civic Club Woman of the Year. She was proud to be a member and loved the many friends she made along the way. Lillian owned and operated her gift shop in the old Diamond Beach complex and was part owner of Giorgios restaurant for many years. Spending all of her summers working, she would work for family businesses and local establishments, including Cullen and James, Golden Dragon, Surfside, Sands, Russos Market, Reges, Crusader and Port Royal. She and her husband enjoyed their many travels together to Hawaii, England, Memphis, Reno, Niagara Falls, Atlanta, Louisiana, Texas and for many years to the family home in Florida. Lillian’s greatest love of all was spending time with her family and living in Wildwood Crest. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Armand (“Ott”) Russo and her brother William Howell. She is survived by her son Steve Russo; her daughter Gail (Jack) Campbell; 4 grandchildren Jason, Adam, Zachary and Jonathan; 2 great grandchildren Jason and Jordan; her sister-in-law Doris Wade and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be Private. The family suggests donations in Lillian’s memory to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260 and to South Jersey Cancer Fund, PO Box 1084, Brigantine, NJ 08203.
