ROMANO, JAMES J.

ROMANO, JAMES J., 59, of Dennisville, New Jersey went to be with his Lord on January 22, 2014 while doing what he loved, playing basketball. Jim was born June 13, 1954 in Philadelphia PA to Michael and Edith O’Neill Romano. He graduated Interboro High School in 1972 and moved to Sea Isle to work in the family business, Romano’s restaurant. He married Mary Dronenburg, also of Sea Isle in 1984.James later became self-employed, opening his own carpentry business. Jim was a member and council member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Ocean View, New Jersey as well as a member and past president of the Experimental Aircraft Association at Woodbine Airport, AOPA and Atlantic City Airmates. He loved to fly, especially his “Ultra-Lite” and could been seen flying over friend’s houses and the beach as he waved. In addition to flying he enjoyed hosting a “Risk Night” every week for over thirty years with close friends. Jim loved his family and is survived by his mother, Edith Romano; four sisters, Angela, Patricia (Keith), Michele and Kathleen. He is also survived by his wife Mary; and three children, Jennifer, James and Alison; nieces and nephews, Christian, Kaitlyn, Jimmy, Vincenzo, Janelle, Michael, Jodi and Matthew; and many others who thought of him as another Dad. Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2298 Route 9, Ocean View, New Jersey on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 with a viewing from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and service beginning at 11:00.
