PROUD, EDWARD J., age 63, of North Cape May passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Edward was born in Camden, NJ and has been a resident of North Cape May most of his life. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Edward was the owner-operator of Proud and Son Plumbing and Heating of Cape May Co.. He was a member of the (HOG) Harley Davidson Owners Group, motorcycle club, where he was a former treasurer. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus at many childrens functions. Ed was predeceased by his daughter Pamela Proud and brother Richard Proud. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deborah (nee Walker) Proud, a daughter Natalie (Eric) Proud-Bostard of Cape May Court House and a son Edward (Dawn) Proud of Villas; a brother Harry Proud; three sisters, Catherine Proud, Dolores Majane and Debbie Kennedy. Ed also leaves 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a dear friend Joe Ervin. A memorial service was held 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Seashore Community Church Of The Nazarene, 446 Seashore Road, Erma, NJ Relatives and friends were called to gather at the church Tuesday from 9:30-11:00 am.
