PRICE, THOMAS E., JR. “AKA Santa”, age 79, of N Cape May passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born in Philadelphia, PA.; formerly lived in the Swampoodle & Mayfair Sections of Philadelphia; and has been a Cape May area resident since 2002. He is the son of the late Thomas, Sr. and the late Elsie (Delaney) Price. Thomas was a 1955 graduate of Roman Catholic High School and LaSalle College of Philadelphia. He worked in Plant Accounting for Philadelphia Electric; retiring in 1990. Thomas served his country in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Stella Maris Council #3546 of Erma; was a 4th Degree member of Msgr. Maroney Assembly; was an usher at St John of God RC Church; was associated with the Spirit Players; and volunteered for Bingo at the church. Thomas also volunteered at the Mid Atlantic Center for the Arts in Middle Twp; volunteered at the NASW (Cape May Airport); volunteered doing taxes for senior citizens; and was a volunteer Santa for various local organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathleen Cook. Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years Florence (DiPiero); his children: Theresa (Jim) Brighter of Philadelphia, Thomas E Price, III of Philadelphia, Marybeth (John) Dugan of Newtown, PA, Timothy (Christine) Price of Philadelphia, John Price of Philadelphia, & Ellen (Michael) Giamboy of Vineland, NJ. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his siblings: Carol Haas & Alfred Price. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, N Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 9 to 10:45 AM. Burial of Cremains will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
