POWERS, KENNETH E., 79, of Ocean View, NJ passed away, Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Genesis Heathcare in Cape May Court House, NJ surrounded by his family.
Born in Jersey City, NJ he had lived in Bergenfield, NJ before moving to Ocean View 22 years ago.
Mr. Powers had worked as a Printer for the Bergen Record for 42 years before his retirement 19 years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents Franklin and Florence (nee Vanston) Powers, two sisters: Ruth Spielmann, Florence Fleming, and two aunts: Frances Vanston and Elizabeth Vanston.
Surviving are his wife: Nancy Lee (nee Burr) Powers, four children: Kevin (Lynn) Powers of Nebo, NC, Gary Powers of Raymond, ME, Warren (Mindy Fortino) Powers of Bordentown, NJ and Kelly Powers of Lewes, DE. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Jessica (Sam) Gilman, Kyle Powers, Joshua Powers, one great granddaughter: Olivia Gilman and a sister: Doris Warner of Norristown, PA.
Friends may call Wednesday evening, September 6, from 6 until 9 o’clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore, Road, Palermo, NJ and Thursday morning, September 7, from 9:30 until 11 o’clock. His funeral service will be offered Thursday morning at 11 o’clock.
Burial will be private.
