POSTERNOCK, IRVIN, 84, of Wildwood, NJ, surrounded by his family, passed away of congestive heart failure on January 29, 2014. Irv was a veteran of WWII and Korea, serving in the Marines and U.S. Army. He is predeceased by his son, Michael. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Ginny (nee Anderson), his sons, Russell (Marlene), Harry (Michelle), Dan (Allison), 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A consummate family man, successful insurance agent and extraordinarily dedicated community member, Irv was a charter member of the Wildwood Crest Rescue Squad, Wildwood Crest Swim Club and Cape May County Mental Health Association. During his Wildwood days he was also on the Board of Directors of the Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Wildwood, serving as Chairman of the fund raising committee, Cape May County Cancer Society, Juvenile Conference Committee and Beth Judah Temple. He served as Co-Chair/Master of Ceremonies for the Mental Health TV telethon fund raisers, and was a member of the Wildwood Baby Parade Committee, Masonic Cape Island Lodge#30, Phillip Baker School PTA. He also served as a deputy sheriff in Cape May County during his lifetime.
