PILACIK, EMILY E.

PILACIK, EMILY E. 89 – of Cape May passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2013 in the comfort of her home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Emily was a longtime summer resident of Cape May before retiring here with her husband, Emil in 1984 from Clifton Heights, PA. She was an active member of her communities throughout her life. While raising sons and working for several federal government agencies, Emily still found time to serve her community through music booster organizations, professional women’s clubs, and civic committees in Pennsylvania and later in retirement in New Jersey. She was a dedicated congregant of her churches during her long and full life including St. Agnes Church in Philadelphia, The Chapel of the Little Flower and most recently, Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church in Cape May. Emily was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a cherished friend with an infectious smile. She is predeceased by her husband, Emil S. Pilacik (1996); four sisters; two brothers and her daughter-in-law, Bernadette. She will be dearly missed by her two sons, Emil Pilacik (and fiancee, Linda) and Michael Pilacik (and Dianne); six grandchildren, Emil Jr., Marc, Eric, Aimee, Faith and Michael; six great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (June 11th) at 1:30PM in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 12:30PM ” 1:25PM. Interment will follow in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
