PETTIT, JOSEPH HENRY SR

PETTIT, JOSEPH HENRY SR., 65, of Belleplain, NJ, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Born in Millville to the late Clinton Carles Pettit, Sr. and Angelina Polise Pettit, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He retired from the Belleplain State Forest and from the NJ Army National Guard as a Warrant Officer.
Joe loved being around music. He played the drums and the bass in the Kentucky Dave Band, the Sundown Two Review, and Classic Country. He enjoyed traveling and was a snow bird for the last 17 years. His greatest enjoyment came from the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife of 31 years, Georgeann Layton Pettit; his children, Christinia Palko (Rich), Tim Day (Brandee), Joseph Pettit, Jr. (Kelly), and Paul Pettit (Kimberly); his brothers, Jim Pettit, Alfred Pettit, and Carles Pettit; his sister, Virginia Tweed; his eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and his dog, Bear.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Condolences at www.radzieta.com
