OLSON, BEATRICE MARY

OLSON, BEATRICE MARY (nee Herd), 92, of Wildwood Crest, NJ. passed away peacefully at home. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Bea is survived by her children Gus (Betty) Olson of Vermont, Barbara (Tom) Sawyer and Donna (Roy) Baker all of Lower Township; grandchildren: Gayle(Rick) Luderitz, Greg (Sue) Olson, James (Mary) Sawyer, Jennifer Sawyer, and Shannon (Chris) Nagle; great-grandchildren: Jessica, Alexandra, Ryan Olson, Abigail, Colin Luderitz, Suzanne, Rachel, James, Sienna, Lilah Sawyer; Niece Diane Henfey, other extended family and her loving caregiver and friend Edna Cole. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Gustave R. Olson, sister Doris Madsen and nephew Chris Madsen. Born on April 8, 1921 in Tacony, PA, she was a resident of Wildwood Crest for 89 years. Bea graduated from Philip P. Baker School and Wildwood High School. She was a former member of the Wildwood Crest Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member of Naval Air Station Wildwood & WWII Memorial, and an avid bowler. She loved working in her garden, going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was well loved by all who knew her. She was always up for an adventure – taking her first ride in a motorcycle sidecar in her mid-eighties. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, from 10 am, with funeral service at 11 am, at the Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Ave., North Wildwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wildwood Crest Volunteer Fire Co. #1, 7100 Pacific Ave., Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260.
