NOLAN, MICHAEL “Noz”, of North Wildwood. Michael Nolan ended his long struggle with cancer, a stroke and diabetes on March 29, 2017 surrounded by family members. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from West Catholic High School. He worked on the Spectrum changeover crew and enjoyed a long career in the food service industry, starting as a busboy and then as a waiter at the Vesper Club and then at Garden State Racetrack.He moved to Cape May County in 1980 and was the chef at the Avalon Country Club and also managed the kitchen at the Country Club Tavern in Clermont. Michael enjoyed fishing for stripers, marched as a comic in the New Years Day Parade and played ice hockey. He was a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. Michael was also a talented artist, he loved photography and due to his Spectrum job was able to photograph Paul McCartney, Elton John and other performing artists, up close.Michael is pre-deceased by his parents Anne and Frank (Reds) Nolan. He is survived by his sister Maureen, brothers Frank (Cheryl) and Joe (Lesa). He is also survived by his nieces Lacey Nolan, Emma Nolan and Jessica Chrystan.Michael Noz enjoyed life and gathered many friends along the way. He was cremated, in accordance with his wishes, and a private gathering will take place to scatter his ashes.
