NAPOLEON, DR. JOHN J., D.O.

NAPOLEON, DR. JOHN J., D.O., 78, of Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Cape Regional Medical Center. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Joseph J. and Mary Helene Millevoi Napoleon. Dr. Napoleon was a graduate of LaSalle University, received his medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and served his internship at Parkview Hospital in Philadelphia. He served as president of the medical staff at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, now Cape Regional Medical Center. He also served as vice president of the medical staff and was on the medical staff executive committee, hospital board of directors, joint conference committee, professional and legal affairs committee, quality assurance committee and was chairman of the emergency services committee. Dr. Napoleon was also the Cape May County Medical Examiner and medical director of the Cape May County prison and Bayside State Prison. Dr. Napoleon was president of the New Jersey Association of County Medical Examiners and was a member of the National Association of Medical Examiners, the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and the Cape May County Osteopathic Medical Society. Dr. Napoleon was a longtime elected county committee person in District 9 and was a longtime respected member of the Middle Township Republican Club and the Cape GOP. He was also a longtime member of the Union League. Dr. Napoleon was a model train collector and was a member of the Patcong Valley Model Railroad Club. He also enjoyed fishing and hot rod cars. He was a party boat captain and a member of Tow Boat US. Dr. Napoleon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cecelia Giudice Napoleon; his son, Joseph J. Napoleon; and his grandchildren, Miranda Targum and Jaycie Napoleon. Funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
