MURPHY, RICHARD WILLIAM, 83, of Lima Estates, and formerly of North Cape May, NJ, died Monday, April 11, 2011. Mr. Murphy was born in Philadelphia, PA, and had been a resident of Wallingford, PA, before moving to North Cape May, NJ 20 years ago. Mr. Murphy was a graduate of Pennsylvania Institute School of Electricity, Class of 1947 and Philadelphia Wireless Technical Institute, Class of 1966. He was employed as a Sunoco Oil Burner Serviceman. Mr. Murphy was a US Navy veteran and served for 8 years in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Murphy was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He served as a Eucharistic Minister at St John of God Church, North Cape May. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Stella Maris Council #3546 in Erma, NJ. Beloved husband of the late Jean Marie Murphy who died in December 2010. Survivors include his son Daniel Murphy (Karen) of Oxford, PA; daughter Maria Murphy DeArros (Tim) of Clarksburg, MD; five Grandchildren: Kelly Murphy, Matthew Murphy, Danny Marvel, Michele Chiappa and Becky Getshall; and three Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Mass held Friday, 10:30 a.m. at The Church Of St. Mary Magdalen, 2400 N. Providence Road, Upper Providence, Media, PA.
