MITCHELL, RUTH B., 77, of West Cape May and formerly of Marlton passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family at her side on Friday, February 7, 2014. Born in Camden, NJ in1937, Ruth has been a resident of West Cape May for the past eight years after residing many years in Marlton. Ruth studied at Trenton State College and received a triple major in History, English and Education. She went on to get her Masters Degree in English at Temple University. Ruth enjoyed her career as an elementary school teacher within the Evesham Township School District where she taught 4th Grade at the Evans School before retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent, Cape May. Ruth will be forever loved by her family for being a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was also an award winning artist, who enjoyed china painting. She enjoyed the piano and played the bass and glockenspiel in her youth. Ruth will be dearly missed by her family which includes her husband of 49 years, Robert; three children, Nicki (and Jerry) Bodenstein, Martin (and Kristi) and Kathryn (and Jason) Brown; six grandchildren, Luke, Reed, Juliana, Madelyne, Savannah and Jackson. Ruths memorial service will be held Sunday (February 16th) at 3PM in the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 686 Washington St., Cape May where friends will be received from 2:30PM 3PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
