McKAIG, OTIS N. JR., 80, of South Dennis, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017. Born in Bridgeton to the late Otis N. and Geraldine Banks McKaig, Sr., he was a lifetime resident of this area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House and attended the Wesley United Methodist Church in Petersburg. He served in multiple positions in the church including Administrative Board, Property Committee, Education Committee, Trustee, Sunday School teacher, and Sunday School Superintendent.A graduate of Middle Township High School, Mr. McKaig was Class President during his Junior and Senior years and a wide receiver on the football team. He belonged to various PTA groups and was on the Elementary PTA Executive Committee.Mr. McKaig was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting with his son and grandson. He formerly was a Little League coach. A member of the Rainbow Squares, he was a good square dancer. He loved his family and attending his grandchildren’s events.Mr. McKaig went on mission trips with Nomads On a Mission Active in Divine Service (NOMADS), providing volunteer labor for United Methodist organizations. He also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.Mr. McKaig is survived by his wife, Amanda; his children, Susan Schanz, Steve McKaig (Lucy), and Kathleen Linares; his son in law, Ken Hoover; his nine grandchildren, Rich, Ben, Jon, Megan, Carl, Holly, Laura, Greg, and Kara; and his six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his daughter, Barbara Hoover; and his son in law, Jay Schanz.Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
