MC DEVITT, DONALD R.”MAC”, age 85, of Cape May Court House, NJ, went to be with the Lord to join his wife, Joyce, on Thursday, October 29, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late Harold and Martha Phillips McDevitt. He was a resident of the County since 1962. He was retired from the Stone Harbor Police Department after twenty five years of service as a sergeant He previously was employed by the Philadelphia Fire Department. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. Don was a charter member of the Cpl. George Dramis Marine Corps League; a member and past president of the PBA #59; a member of the Thurston Elmer Wood Post 198 of the American Legion; a scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts; coached PeeWee Football in Stone Harbor and Avalon and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of Wildwood. He is survived by his children: William H. and wife, Diane; Donna Rae McDevitt and Sean B. and wife, Nancy; his grandchildren: Michael Pastore and wife Leslie; Justin McDevitt; Kaitlin Manson, Gabriella Green, “his heart” and Steven Garrison and his fiancée, Donna Higbee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, in 2000 and his brothers, Harold and George McDevitt and a sister, Elizabeth Hughlett. The Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where a viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.
