LoMONACO, VINCENT J.

LoMONACO, VINCENT J., 83, of Wildwood Crest, NJ passed away peacefully on January 25, 2014, with his family by his side. Vince served in the Marines before coming to Wildwood. Vince first came to Wildwood in the early 1950s to open Frank LoMonaco and Sons Awnings and Upholstery along with his father Frank and brother Al. Continuing in the awning industry; Vince owned and operated Frank LoMonaco and Sons until his father and brothers deaths. From there he owned and operated Vincent LoMonaco Awnings along with his Son-In-Law Michael. In 1974, Vince and his wife Rose opened and operated Vincenzo’s Restaurant until 2002. Vince enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his friends as well as being a member of the Sons of Italy. He had a great love for his heritage, tradition, and family. He was known for his sense of humor, compassion, and ability to never be without a joke to tell. Vince loved spending quality time with his wife, Rose; daughter, Ro; son-in-law, Michael; and grandchildren, Mike and Krista. They were the true loves of his life. Vince was predeceased by his parents, Frank (Onofrio) and Rosina LoMonaco; brothers, William, Matthew, and Albert LoMonaco; and sisters, Mary Mina (LoMonaco) and Dolly (Rosalie) Buonasorte (LoMonaco). Vince is survived by his beloved wife, Rose Marie LoMonaco (Chiarella); his daughter, Rose McGowen (LoMonaco); son-in-law, Michael McGowen; grandchildren, Michael Vincent and Krista Rose McGowen; his sister-in-laws, Jennie and Julie LoMonaco; along with 31 nieces and nephews and countless great-nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Ave in North Wildwood, NJ and on Saturday February 1, 2014, from 9:30 AM -10:30 AM at Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Assumption Church 7100 Seaview Avenue, Wildwood Crest, NJ.
