LAUB, MAURICE JOSEPH, JR (“Whitey”), age 67, of North Cape May passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his home. Maurice was born July 29, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA and has been a Cape May area resident since 1970. He is the son of the late Maurice J and the late Mary (Markey) Laub. He was a truck driver by trade. Whitey served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was very active in procuring and maintaining the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall in Wildwood. Whitey was a member of the executive committee of the American Legion Post 184 of Wildwood and the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 955 in Wildwood, and was very active in the American Legion Bingo. He was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann attending St Raymond’s RC Church in Villas. Maurice is survived by his 3 sons: Maurice (Pam) Laub, III, Joseph Laub & Sean Patrick Laub; and his daughter Dawn Marie (William) Lloyd. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Gabriella, Ericca Lynn, Paige Marie, & Michael; his great granddaughter Lylianah; his sisters: Kathleen Capriotti & Mary Ann Sheppard; and his dear friend & roommate (brother) Bob Standsbury. He was preceded in death by his sister Ada McPhilemy. There will be a grave side service at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Cape May County Veteran’s Cemetery, 127, Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210; followed by a Memorial Service at American Legion Post 184, 4200 Atlantic Ave, Wildwood, NJ 08260.
