LAQUER, ULRIC J. MD – So. Burlington, VT. Dr. Laquer passed away on February 20, 2014 after a short illness. He was born on March 24, 1924 in Frankfurt, Germany, son of Fritz Oskar Laquer and Kaetchen Maria Guba. They came to Philadelphia in 1940. He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1943-1946 as a PFC, and as a Captain in the US Army Medical Corps from 1955-56. He married Christine DeArmond in 1946. They settled in Cape May Court House, NJ in 1950. Dr. Laquer opened a medical practice and specialized in Family care. He made house calls! They raised four children, Richard, Thomas, Brenda and Barbara; all of whom survive him. He and Christine moved to Texas in 1975 where he taught at the UTHSC Medical School. Later they moved to Arizona. Christine predeceased him in 2006. He has two grandchildren, Jonathan Laquer Krinsky and Christine A. Laquer. He loved travel, music, gardening, and science — he amazed at the human body and figured his heart beat almost three-billion times in his 89 years! His final adventure was living in beautiful Burlington, Vt. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Cape May County Historical Museum. Ric and Christine owned, and raised their family in, the 200-year-old house, and totally restored and refurbished it. It became the county museum in 1976. There will be a graveside family service in Cape May Court House later this year. Condolences may be made at Radzieta.com
