KING, ROBERT S.

KING, ROBERT S., 84, of Cape May Court House, died following a long illness on October 14, 2013. He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and graduated from Parkersburg High School and Denison University. Mr. King formerly resided in Millville, NJ, Severna Park, MD, and recently in Cape May Court House, NJ. He was a naval gunnery officer during the Korean War, serving aboard the Battleship USS New Jersey and aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge. Jane Fraser King, the love of his life and wife of 31 years, died of cancer in 1983. Mr. King was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Millville, NJ and Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, MD. Mr. King held many sales and marketing positions in the glass container industry including Wheaton Industries in Millville, NJ before retiring in 1995 from Carr-Lowrey Glass Company of Baltimore, MD as Director of Sales Operations. Mr. King was an avid golfer and member of Chartwell Golf & Country Club in Severna Park, MD. He was involved in volunteer work with the Caring Collection of Annapolis, MD, Arundel Habitat for Humanity, and Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis. He is survived by three children, Nancy Lamken (David) of Cape May Court House, NJ; John F. of Millville, NJ; David P. (Carolyn) of St Paul, MN; and two grandchildren, Ian and Jane King. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 11 a.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
