KERN, G. ERIC, 69, of Rio Grande, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Born in Pottstown, PA to the late Lester and Mildred (Pickle) Kern, he moved to this area over 50 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a police officer until he retired as a Captain for the Wildwood Police Department. He was a member of the VFW Post 3509 Wildwood, American Legion Post 184 Wildwood, Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Order of Moose in North Wildwood, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7 Wildwood, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a charter member of the Elks Lodge in North Wildwood and Wildwood. He enjoyed jet skiing and his computer.
