HOGAN, JAMES R. “JIM”, age 80, of North Cape May, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his home with his loving wife by his side. James was born and raised in the Kensington Section of Philadelphia, PA; was formerly from Feasterville, PA; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1997. He is the son of the late Henry Hogan and the late Gertrude (Ross) Hogan. Jim was a member of the Carpenter’s Union earlier in life, retired from the Budd Company of Philadelphia, PA in 1995, and worked for 10 years as a Cape May Lighthouse Keeper. He served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Jim was a member of the Marine Corps League # 676 Dramis Detachment of Cape May Court House, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge with everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harry Hogan. Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years Joanne (nee Connors) Hogan; his children: Jim (Tammy) Hogan, Joanne (Mike) Coady, Patti (Nick) Raschilla, Dan Hogan, & Katie (Bill) Beese; his sisters: Kitty (Ed) McGinty & Trudi Borchardt; his brother John (Kass) Hogan; and his sister-in-law Peg Hogan. Also surviving are his 12 grandchildren: Patrick, Cara, Christina, Kevin, Julia, Megan, Alison, Matthew, Madeline, Eric, Ashley, & Nick; and many other relatives. There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204.
