HODGES, ANDRE’ L., 67, of Cape May Court House, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 8, 2013. He was born on May 4, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Bishop Newman High School in Philadelphia. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years where he did a tour of duty in Vietnam. Later he graduated from Rowan University with a B.A. in Special Education. He went on to receive a M.S. from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. From there he completed a fellowship at Columbia University. He retired from Cape May County Special Services School District in 2009 but continued as a professor at Atlantic Cape Community College until 2011. He loved working with the youth. He served on the Middle Township Board of Education for six years. He is fondly remembered by many for his 25 years of service as founder and director of The Interdenominational Outreach Choir. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Gloria J. Hodges; three children, Andrea, Christal, and Andre’ Jr.; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a beloved niece, Tanisha. Homegoing services will be held at Christ Gospel Love Center, 2209 Route 9 South, Whitesboro on Saturday, October 12, 2013 with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with services to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery. CURRAN RICHARD J. (Rip) 1944-2024 Richard J. Curran, 80, of Wildwood Crest, N.J., passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024. Born in Somers Point, N.J., he was a local resident for 80 years.
