HINCHLEY, CHARLOTTE “LOTTIE”, 94 – of South Dennis, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Victoria Commons in North Cape May, New Jersey. Born in Montreal, Canada to George Victor and Jessie (Bremner) Jackson, she immigrated to the United States in childhood. Charlotte graduated from Collingswood High School and Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), and began her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in Rutland County, Vermont. She spent the remainder of her career teaching 4th grade in the Glendora, New Jersey Elementary School. Charlotte moved to Dennis Township in 1986, where she was active in her local church. She was also a committed supporter of Christian foreign missions, particularly the translation of the Old Testament into the native language of the Kuna tribesmen of Panama. She enjoyed baking, reading, walking on the beach, and puzzles of all kinds. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband David Hinchley, after fifty years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Caulfield (David) of South Dennis, and her brother, George Victor Jackson Jr., of Landingville, Pennsylvania.
