HICKMAN, ISABEL (nee Springer

HICKMAN, ISABEL (nee Springer), 96, a native of Cape May County and longtime resident of Cape May passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Isabel graduated from Middle Township High School and later graduated from the Brooks Business School, Philadelphia, PA. She worked for the Cape May County Freeholders Office for many years where she held various positions before retiring in 1982. She was a longtime member of the Cape May United Methodist Church. Known to immediate family as Mom or Mom Mom, Isabel is also known as “Aunt Is” to a host of cousins and family friends. Family was foremost in her life and she especially enjoyed being a grandmother. With her husband Ken, she wintered in Florida for many years and she traveled extensively in the US and visited the UK. She is predeceased by her husband, Kennedy A. Hickman Jr. (2002) and her brother, Charles Homer Springer. Isabel is dearly missed by her loving family which includes her two sons, Ken (and Janet) Hickman and Keith Hickman; one grandson, Kennedy Richard (and Patricia) Hickman and one great grandson, Liam Kennedy Hickman. Isabel’s graveside service will take place on Thursday (June 8th) at 11am in the Baptist Cemetery, corner of Church St. and Reading Ave., Cape May Court House.
