HEMINWAY, LEWIS CLIFTON., JR., age 89, of Erma passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Lewis was born March 15, 1927 in Camden, NJ; formerly lived in Woodlynne, NJ; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1952. He is the son of the late Lewis Clifton Heminway and the late Elvina (Simpson) Heminway. Lewis served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Lebanon Valley College. Lewis was a milk truck driver delivering for Sealtest, Abbotts, Johanna, and Lehigh Valley Dairies over the years. He was affectionately known as “Lew the Milk Man”. Lewis was a member of the Maranatha New Covenant Church, and he enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Myrna Heminway; his sons: Lewis III (Dorann) Heminway & Stuart (April) Heminway; and his daughters: Gail Johns, Darlene (Reverend Mark) Stiefel, & Lisa Heminway. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and his son-in-law Michael DiMedio. Lewis was preceded in death by his daughter Marcia DiMedio, his son Jeffrey, and his sisters: Hazel Muth & Ruth Siebert. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene, 446 Seashore Rd, Erma, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran’s Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
