HANKER, NANCY JEAN (neé

HANKER, NANCY JEAN (neé Wasniewski), of Stone Harbor, peacefully passed away on July 20, 2017 at home after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born January 7, 1957 in Philadelphia to the late Walter and Jean Wasniewski. She attended Nazareth Academy and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She began her nursing career as a pediatric oncology nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She relocated to the Jersey shore after she married her husband and love of her life Larry Hanker. She ultimately joined him in his family retail business and became the successful owner and manager of Neptune’s Jewels and The Shop for Pappagallo in Stone Harbor, and formerly Pappagallo in Ocean City. She is survived by her devoted husband Larry of 37 years. She will be sadly missed by all her relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Monday morning, July 31 at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 9910 3rd Avenue, Stone Harbor at 11:00 o’clock to celebrate her life. Her immediate family will be gathered and receiving visitors at 10:00 o’clock.
