HANDLEY, ROBERTA DORIS (MEEKINGS), 75, of Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 1, 2015. She was born and raised in Millville, NJ and was a 1958 graduate of Millville Senior High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who frequently referred to her family as “her life”. She was also very proud of her 25 years of service with the Girl Scout Troop 597 of Tuckahoe. As a member of the Ocean City Exchangette Club, she enjoyed her years of chaperoning the Miss Ocean City Pageant. Along with her husband, Bill, she was an active member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Stone Harbor. Roberta is predeceased by her identical twin sister, Martha Fairhurst (Meekings) of Millville. She is survived by her two sisters, Carol Clifton (Meekings) and Barbara Hoffman (Meekings); her husband, William C. Handley, Sr.; her children, Sheila Handley, Ruth Ann Handley, William C. Handley, Jr., and Barbara Cleffi (Handley); and her nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 9425 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
