GOWEN, SAMUEL J., age 78, of Cape May passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Samuel was born March 31, 1935 in Pennsylvania and was formerly of Norristown, PA; but has been a Cape May area resident for over 20 years. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Samuel was a Rigger for the Philadelphia Electric Company, retiring after 35 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and owned his own boats: the Hawk Eye I & the Hawk Eye II. Samuel was a member of the Cape May VFW, loved tending to his flower garden, and enjoyed his pets especially his dog Bruno and his pet seagull George. He is survived by his wife Emma Vivian Gowen; his two daughters: Judy & Shawn; his sister Marge; and his 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be private.
