GEIB, BETTY JEAN, age 88, of Lower Township, formerly of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on September 22, 2013 at her home in Cape May. Born November 11, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Carlton and Florence Perkins, she graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1943 and Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing in Glen Ridge, NJ in 1946, practicing at Mountainside Hospital. Lifelong residents of Bloomfield and members of Park Methodist Church, she and her husband retired to Cape May, where they joined the Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Betty Jean is now reunited with her much loved husband of 65 years, William Edward Geib, who passed away on June 24, 2012. A loving Mother, she is survived by three children: one daughter, Nancy Ann Jula and her husband William of Florida, and two sons, William Steven Geib and his wife Denise of Connecticut, and Kurt Geib and his wife Nancy of South Carolina. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: William Jula, Jeffrey Geib, Joanna Trauger, Jessica Boothroyd, Matthew Geib, Jennifer Jula, and Gregory Geib, and five great-grandchildren: Peyton, Carter, Cooper, Taelyn, and Kelly. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Mae Harhen, and sister-in-law, Betty Laird. Betty Jean had a warmth of spirit that was palpable to anyone visited her home. She consumed books with a passion, loved walks, swimming in the ocean, music, and enjoyed flying with her husband in their Cessna. She was a light to those around her. Funeral service 3:00pm Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 2:00pm. Interment is private.
