FLUKEY, JAMES VINCENT SR., 75, of Petersburg, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Shore Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Millville to the late Paul and Margaret Rouleau Flukey, he lived in Petersburg for 50 years after living in Woodbine. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Jim was the owner of JVF Trucking in Petersburg. He was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish St. Casimir Church, the American Legion Post 298 Woodbine, the Woodbine and Tuckahoe Fire Companies, and Knights of Columbus. He also served as an Upper Township EMT and Woodbine Police Officer. He was an avid fisherman and was captain of the Great Escape Fishing Boat. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Marie (nee Cheesman) Flukey; his children, Donna (Bob) Scherer, James (LeeAnn) Flukey, Jr., Diane (Dave) Kadlcak, Mary (Klaus) Gruber, and John (Danielle) Flukey; his 12 grandchildren, Katelyn, Alyson, Emily, Kristin, Patricia, Jimmy, Monika, Alena, Anja, Arianna, Arthur, and John Paul; his sisters, Kathy (Sam) Repici and Paula (Scott) Mauger; and his nieces, nephews, and in laws.
Viewing will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish St. Casimir Church, 304 Clay Street, Woodbine with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor.
