FERGUSON, JOHN, IV, 54

FERGUSON, JOHN, IV, 54, of Clermont, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Sea Isle City, he was raised in Avalon and was a lifetime resident of this area.
John was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Avalon. He also was a member of the Avalon Volunteer Fire Department and received the Firefighter of the Year 2016 award. He was involved in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and was Akela for Troop 56. He was an ordained minister.
John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to cook and barbecue for his family and friends. He loved throwing big parties at the Red Neck Yacht Club.
John is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Kim Twiggs Spencer (Zac); Drew Twiggs, John Ferguson, V, Kirsten Ferguson, and Joseph Ferguson; his grandchildren Olivia Spencer and Abigail Spencer; his father, Jack Ferguson; his brother, Robert Ferguson, Sr.; his nephews, Robert Ferguson, Jr. and Andrew Ferguson; his sisters in law and brothers in law, Peggy and Frank Holland, Bill and Sandy Mollenkopf, Theresa Oliver, Steve and Dawn Mollenkopf; and his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura “Lolly” Ferguson.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Avalon Community Hall, 30th Street and the beach, Avalon, where viewing will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will be private.
