FARRELL, WILLIAM M., 69, of Cape May Court House, NJ, born and raised in West Philadelphia, graduate of Saint John Bartram, graduate of the University of the Republic of Vietnam Class of 1969, retired Philadelphia Police Department, artist, poet, dreamer…one of the last true renaissance men, passed peacefully with his family surrounding him on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
A decorated Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Bill was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Airborne Association, the VFW, and the F.O.P. He moved to North Wildwood in 1984 before moving to Cape May Court House in 2005. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
Bill enjoyed reading, writing, drawing, art, poetry, and photography. He liked going to the beach. His greatest enjoyment came from the time spent with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen (nee Weisback) Farrell; his children, Kathleen Lemaire (Rob), MichaelFarrell, Dr. JamesFarrell(Shannon), and Megan Farrell; his brother, RichardFarrell(Patricia); his ten grandchildren, Sara, Bobby, Conor, Aidan, Maeve, Declan, Ciaran, Maggie, Brenna, and Mollie; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House with his Memorial Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
