EVOY, WYN W.A., SR.

EVOY, WYN W.A., SR., age 72, of North Cape May passed away peacefully Friday, November 22, surrounded by his family at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he resided in Haddon Heights, NJ before moving to N. Cape May in 1972. He was a graduate of Haddon Heights High School and also a graduate of Union College in Barbourville, KY. Wyn retired in 2009 after 50 years of service as a funeral director. He was former owner and manager of the both the Evoy Funeral Home in Haddon Heights and of the Evoy Funeral Home in North Cape May. Wyn also served as Coroner of Camden County, NJ; was a member of the NJ State Funeral Directors Assoc.; and the West Jersey Funeral Directors Assoc. He was a devoted Christian and served his community in countless and unselfish ways. Wyn was Past Master of the Cape May Masonic Lodge #30 F&AM, a Mason at the Haddon Heights Masonic Lodge; and former member of the Kiwanis. He was a member of the Lower Township Rotary, and Chamber of Commerece. Wyn was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fishing Creek, NJ. He loved fishing, traveling to the beach, and being surrounded by his grandchildren. Wyn was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years Susan in 2012. He is survived by his second wife Marie (nee Baltzell) Pratt; his children: Kim (David), Bill, Chris (Jennifer), Wyn Jr. (Lynne), and Laurie (Jake); and step-children Kelly Pratt, Matthew (Crystal) Pratt, and Dan Pratt. Also surviving are his mother Dorothy Evoy; his sisters: Martha (John) Fidler & Susan (James) Hilton; his grandchildren: Jocelyn (Zach), Sydney, Houston, Bridgette, Andy, Jon, Matthew, Cheryl, Angela, Wyn III, Indira, & Olivia; his three great-grandchildren; and beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 PM and from 6 to 9 PM on Monday November 25, 2013 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 123 Fishing Creek Rd, Fishing Creek, NJ 08204 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery, 780 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ.
