EVANS, THEODORE J. “TED”, 73, of Cape May and formerly of West Chester, PA passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 after living with, and battling heart disease for many years. Ted has been a resident of Cape May since 1996. An entrepreneur and hard worker, Ted founded the Colonial Tire Company in West Chester, PA, a business that he operated for over 20 years. He later founded and managed the Cape Printing Company in West Cape May before retiring. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Ted lived life with enthusiasm and a terrific sense of humor. He enjoyed so much of what life offered and among those joys were his interests in fast cars, reading, football, World War II History, music, holiday family gatherings, animals and spending time with family and good friends. Ted will be dearly missed by his loving family which includes his wife, Marina; two sons, Sean (and Dori) and Teddy, Jr.; step-son, Dimitri Kalashnik; his brother, Rick Evans (and Lee); sisters, Elizabeth Roach (and Norman) and Carolanne (and Bob) Helverson; one granddaughter, Ella; nieces, Brittany Evans, Kelly Neuling and Brittani Roach. Ted’s memorial service and celebration of his life will begin at 11AM on Saturday (June 1st) in the Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May where friends will be received from 10AM-11AM prior to the service.
