DOUGHERTY, ELIZABETH M. “BETTY” nee Simmons – 79, recently of Seaville, NJ and formerly of Philadelphia and Sea Isle City NJ, went to her heavenly home on November 15, 2017.Betty is dearly missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Tom; her children Tom (Terry), Beth (Kyle) Pearce, Brian (Adrienne), Kathy (Mike) Grubb, Maureen (Fred) Schmid, Jeannie (Mike) Finn; and 14 grandchildren: Laura, Tom, Kelsea, Ryan, Evan, Michael, Sean, Michael, Matthew, Mark, Amanda, Gina, Thomas, and Mollie. Her bright smile will be missed by family and friends.Betty was an active member at St. Joseph’s Parish in Sea Isle City. Some of the many works she volunteered for included Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, Bereavement Ministry, and Ambassador of the Patriotic Rosary at St. Joseph’s. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Third Order of St. Francis, active in Charismatic Renewal for nearly 40 years, and Pastoral Ministry at the hospital when it was called Burdette Tomlin.A viewing will be at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 on Monday November 20th, 6:00pm – 8:00pm, and at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 126 44th St Sea Isle City, NJ 08243 on Tuesday November 21st 9:00am – 9:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Betty’s memory to either the St. Joseph’s Church building fund (Sea Isle City) or the St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish/Community Center (Marmora, NJ).
